Homemade Secret Sauce

In honor of today being National Cheeseburger Day, I am presenting to you my favorite topping for your burger and fries. When I moved to Arizona for college in 2012, I was thrilled to discover that In-N-Out has locations in Tucson and while I am not a huge fast food person, I will make an exception for In-N-Out. We even went there after my college graduation when the ceremony had run long, it was 10pm and we were starving after a long day of festivities. You can find a ton of knock-off recipes for their sauce online and while all of the ones I have tried have been great, I always want a quick, at-home version that I can make with minimal ingredients, so here it is. And don’t forget to dip your fries in it too.
Recipe
I put the ratios of the ingredients here so that you can adjust for however much sauce you want. Feel free to add in some shallot or white onion and even a little bit of mustard if that’s your thing.
Ingredients
2 parts mayonnaise (find my homemade version here)
1 part ketchup (I like Primal Kitchen or Heinz No Sugar Added)
1 tsp pickle juice from the jar
2 tbsp pickles, chopped (I use Mt Olive Bread and Butter Pickles)
1/2 tsp white wine vinegar
Mix all ingredients together. Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. You may need to stir before using again.
