The Best Clean Skincare Products for Dry Skin
I have unfortunately always had dry skin, and the harsh weather in New York doesn’t do it any favors. The last couple years, I have been on an endless search for the best clean skincare products for dry skin, which is way more challenging than you would think. Some of the top criteria I look for?
No or minimal fragrance. This is one I have heard about a lot when it comes to clean skincare and was confirmed by my dermatologist. In the US, fragrance can be a catch-all for ingredients and chemicals that brands do not have to specifically identify, including some that can be very harmful.
My second main criteria is looking up the rating on EWG’s Healthy Living app. This app lets you know a products clean rating, taking into account all ingredients. I generally aim for products with ratings between 1 and 3 (the lower the number, the better quality ingredients).

Body
This Aveeno Body Lotion has been a favorite of mine since college. Going to school in Arizona, my skin was dry all the time, but this was a huge help. Nowadays, I go for the fragrance free version instead of the scented options to keep it a clean skincare option.
Face
Honest Beauty has been a favorite brand of mine as I try to incorporate more clean beauty products in my routine, and this winter, I discovered their Calm + Heal Melting Balm for your face. I normally use this last in my skincare routine before adding my sunscreen for the day. Warning: a little goes a long way with this.
Another great Honest Beauty product I’ve been using this winter is their Daily Lightweight Calm Moisturizer. Designed for sensitive skin but hydrating enough to keep your skin prepped for winter, this has been my favorite face moisturizer for the winter.
As anyone who lives in the Northeast knows, winter isn’t over until June. That being said, when some nicer days start mixing in March through May, I like to change out my heavier face moisturizers for something a lighter. This Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer is a favorite of mine and a great dupe for Clinique’s Moisture Surge Moisturizer. Just make sure to get the fragrance free version if you want to go the clean skincare route.
When I found out this summer that Sun Bum was coming out with their own skincare line, I was very excited considering I love their sunscreens. This Restoring Face Mask has been perfect for incorporating into my skincare routine once a week. It is great with helping redness and leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrating.
This Hydrating Serum from Sun Bum is a perfect for the summer. It is very lightweight but really hydrating and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy. I use it both morning and night, and sometimes a little extra after pool time since the chlorine can dry me out.
Spot Treatment
Vaseline is making a comeback in skincare but I have been using it in my skincare for a longtime. While the trendy thing is to put it all over your face, my pores would clog in two seconds, so I only spot treat with it. Whenever I have dryness on my cheeks or around my eyes, I apply a little vaseline. This is also my go-to for keeping my lips hydrated year-round. Pro-tip, get the travel size since Vaseline lasts forever.
I am not affiliated with any of the brands in this post, nor do I make any money off of any of the links. I just really enjoy these products and hope you do to!
